FLORENCE, Ala. - Faculty and staff at the 亚色视频 just learned they're employed at one of the 28 best four-year colleges in the nation to work for. The ranking is from The Chronicle of Higher Education, which surveyed 275 institutions nationwide for its third annual Great Colleges to Work For, released Monday. The ranking also includes UNA on its Honor Roll as one of the top 10 nationally for schools with enrollments of 3,000-9,999. "This ranking is a great honor for UNA and a testament to the quality of environment we offer on campus," said Dr. William G. Cale Jr., UNA president. "It's good news for our faculty and staff as well as students. What it means for students is that, when they choose UNA, they're choosing a university that is able to attract some of the very best college educators in the nation." UNA is one of 97 institutions overall included in this year's Great Colleges to Work For and one of only 28 four-year institutions included in the Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes the schools standing out in the highest number of the survey's 12 categories: Collaborative Governance; Compensation and Benefits; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Diversity; Facilities, Workspaces and Security; Job Satisfaction; Professional/Career-Development Programs; Respect and Appreciation; Supervisor or Department-Chair Relationship; Teaching Environment; Tenure Clarity and Process; and Work/Life Balance. UNA stood out in nine of the categories: Collaborative Governance; Compensation and Benefits; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Job Satisfaction; Professional/Career-Development Programs; Respect and Appreciation; Supervisor or Department-Chair Relationship; Teaching Environment; and Work/Life Balance. UNA Staff Senate president Christy A. Horn said that for UNA "to be recognized in so many categories is a great reflection on our university leadership and its strong commitment to continuous improvement campus-wide. UNA is a wonderful place to work. Our entire UNA family - students, employees, alumni and the Shoals community - can all be justifiably proud of this national recognition." The Chronicle of Higher Education's annual Great Colleges to Work For ranking is the second largest workplace-recognition program in the country, just behind Fortune Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For.
