Una To Host Strings Recital April 20

FLORENCE, Ala. - The 亚色视频 Department of Music and Theatre will host a strings recital, "Afternoon With Strings," April 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the UNA Music Building Recital Hall. Admission is free. In addition to UNA strings students, the recital will include the Peery Center String Orchestra, a preparatory strings program for Shoals area students. Solos will include Wen Zhao (violin) performing J.S. Bach's Sonata No. 3 in E-major, Allegro, and Miika Weimann (cello) performing Brahms' Sonata No. 1 in E-minor, Allegro Moderato. The Peery Center Strings Orchestra will open with the "Mexican Clap Dance" ("Chiapanecas"), followed by "Capriccio Espagnol" by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov. The orchestra will be joined by the UNA strings in second and third movements to finish the piece with a fiery fandango. To conclude the program, the strings will be joined by some percussionists to perform an old familiar rock tune, "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Freddie Mercury.
