FLORENCE, AL - The annual Step Sing competition is set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8 at 7 p.m. the Muscle Shoals High School auditorium as renovations in Norton Auditorium are ongoing. The theme for Step Sing 2020 is "A Night at the Movies," and the event allows competing campus groups to show off their talents by performing choreographed songs, dances, and stories.
"There is simply nothing like Step Sing on campus," said Kayla Edwards, Student Activities Coordinator. "The energy, the excitement, and the joy that radiates from the students is just incredible. You can feel the buzz from just sitting in the audience. The groups that participate put weeks of hard work into their performances, and the thrill of standing on that stage and competing brings them back every year."
This year's competition will feature performances from Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Delta Pi, Phi Mu, Zeta Tau Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta, Pi Kappa Alpha, Lambda Sigma Phi, and the Independent Greek Counsel. Winners will be announced after the performances on Feb. 8.
Edwards said money raised from ticket sales will be going to special projects for campus infrastructure.
Doors open both evenings at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at una.edu/boxoffice.
