Una To Host Mlk Day Commemoration And Service

FLORENCE, Ala. - The life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be the focus of a community gathering at the 亚色视频, Monday, Jan. 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a community service event.
UNA's faculty, staff, students and the community will pack 30,000 meals to be given to local food banks. At 12:15 p.m., the MLK March and Remembrance will start from the GUC Atrium. Participants will march to the UNA Baptist Campus Ministries where the commemoration will conclude with a short program and lunch.
This year's theme is "Making a Difference in the 21st Century" and will feature Rev. Alvelyn Sanders, producer and director of Foot Soldiers: Class of 1964 and Pastor of Greater St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Florence, Alabama. Lunch will immediately follow the commemoration program.
The event is free and open to the public and is being sponsored by The Office of Student Engagement, Leadership and Volunteerism andthe Office of Diversity and Institutional Equity.
